I had the pleasure of working with Fernando Mastrangelo,  one of the creators of “Al One” … which happens to be a very impressive art piece / project.  More on Fernando, and “Al One” aka Alone, in our forth coming Karin + Raoul magazine – Advertisement “Remix” issue.  Keep your eyes on the prize…Comes out late April 2012.

Btw, I took a self-portrait with the artist Fernando, in his work studio, and yes, on his bike! Hot!!!!

Orphanage in Carrefour, Haiti are starving for the educational and artistic opportunities that we take for granted in the U.S. GEMS is committed to ending commercial sexual exploitation and domestic trafficking of children by changing individual lives, transforming public perception, and revolutionizing the systems and policies that impact sexually exploited youth. By linking the two organizations and inspiring a myriad of supporters across all disciplines, the possibilities for personal growth and future success for the children are limitless.
The children of the Diakonos
Beauty Activists, Ford Model & Founder of Art In Motion (www.artinmotionshow.com), Monica Watkins, and “Makeup Artist to the Stars”, Leora Edut (www.makeupbyleora.com), realized that fashion and beauty can serve as a catalyst to empower young, at-risk women and children in the areas of self-esteem, creativity, diversity, and access to financial freedom through the arts. The ‘Art Of Beauty Experience’ art auction and gala event will be a group exhibit featuring the paintings created by the young women of GEMS and the children of The Diakonos Orphanage. The young women of GEMS will be auctioning their work and the proceeds from their half of the exhibit will be donated to The Diakonos Orphanage. The children of Diakonos will be auctioning their work and the proceeds from their paintings will be donated to the young women of GEMS.
The healing and the empowerment created by young women and children expressing themselves through artwork is the ultimate goal of ‘The Art Of Beauty Experience’. SRC recording star Shontelle will donate a special musical performance at ‘The Art Of Beauty Experience’ Art Auction and Gala Dec.15th. This will be an event you don’t want to miss! Please come out and support this beautiful movement with a night filled with music, art, cocktails, and hope.

Donations would be greatly appreciated at the door. All proceeds from the art auction and all donations will go directly to www.gems-girls.org and www.diakonosintl.org.
